Improving Education Throughout Washington State

Yesterday, I visited this kindergarten class at a publicly chartered school in Spokane. 80% of these kids arrived at kindergarten with alphabet / word skills at a pre-school level or less. Already in this school year, all but 4% have gained kindergarten level early reading skills. In this photo each child is working on alphabet/word/reading skills aimed specifically to their level and each is moving forward at their own pace. We should embrace education innovations that work, not anchor ourselves to a World War II era education system and a bureaucracy focused on adults. Put Kids First.

If you agree, please sign up to join our campaign and when you do please add a comment letting me know you want WA to build an education system that meets the needs of all kids today. Together, let's fix this. Let's reclaim our destiny, undivided.
