My thoughts regarding the governor's vetoes
People and press have been asking me what I think about the governor's vetoes. Here's the short and longer answer:
Short answer: Acting out of spite is no way to run a state. Washington needs leadership, not publicity stunts.
Longer answer: The governor drew a stark contrast between how he and I govern. He remains disengaged and then at the end inserts himself, in a desperate attempt to be relevant, by issuing threats. I'll pull people together early (as governor, I would meet with legislators in October-November before session starts!) and focus on fixing problems, not on partisan ideology.
Inslee's struggling to look like a tough guy, but he is hyper-partisan, divisive and ineffective. Washington deserves real leadership. It's time.
