(Tacoma, WA)  "Commuters stuck in traffic jams don't want the state telling them 405 is moving just fine. They want 405 fixed. Folks are telling me they just want to get to work on time and get home at a reasonable hour and often they can't. WSDOT should listen, ‘free’ one HOT lane into a general-purpose lane and convert the remaining lane to tolled or for 2+people in the car", Bill Bryant said in a statement released today.

In response to overwhelming driver frustration, Bryant said last week on the John Carlson Show on KVI that the best solution would be to go to four general-purpose lanes with one two-person carpool HOT lane.

"If that doesn’t eliminate the traffic jams, we'll try something different, but commuters deserve a state government that listens and tries to fix the problem."
