Rep. Matt Manweller Endorses Bill Bryant for Governor

State Representative Matt Manweller (R-Ellensburg) announced on Tuesday that he is endorsing Seattle Port Commissioner Bill Bryant for governor. In a prepared release Rep. Manweller noted he is impressed with Bryant’s agricultural and Central Washington roots.

“Bill has spent nearly his entire career in agriculture, much of it in Central Washington. He has lived in Yakima for 7 years, worked everywhere from Omak to Walla Walla and he knows agriculture, water, and how important trade is to jobs in Central Washington.”

Manweller also wants a governor who has a proven track record managing effective but responsible government. “Bill has been elected in King County twice as a Port Commissioner and has proven to be a fiscal conservative who cut property taxes. But while cutting taxes, he also reformed a massive bureaucracy to meet current needs. He built coalitions and pulled people together to lead a historic consolidation of the Seattle and Tacoma ports.”

“I have known Bill for almost 10 years and know him to be someone of vision, integrity and passion. That’s what Washington needs right now and I’m looking forward to serving with Bill in Olympia.”
